Stop tripping over wood scraps. This DIY Cantilever Lumber Rack is cheaper than the metal store-bought systems, easier to customize, and incredibly strong. Using just standard 2x4s and EMT conduit (tubing), I built a heavy-duty wall storage system that clears up floor space instantly. In this build, I show you how to construct a 2x4 and conduit pipe and lumber rack specifically designed for a concrete block wall. This will also work for stud walls as well. The Design: This is a vertical cantilever system. The 2x4 uprights are anchored to the concrete wall, and the EMT conduit arms hold the weight. It’s perfect for storing long boards, pipe, molding, and even plywood on the top shelf.
