In this video, I compare the JumboMax UltraLite XS to the Golf Pride Tour Velvet Midsize to see how grip size and weight impact performance off the tee. Using my TaylorMade M1 driver (9.5° set to 8°) with a Tensei Orange 70TX shaft, I tested both grips with a 2023 Titleist Pro V1 to measure feel, ball speed, and overall performance. Strictly trying to hit fades in the video. Grip Specs: • JumboMax UltraLite XS – 50g, oversized profile, designed for stability and reduced grip tension. • Golf Pride Tour Velvet Midsize – 53g, classic rubber feel, trusted by many players for its balance of control and comfort. Results: I recorded my highest ball speed with the JumboMax UltraLite XS, which was an exciting find. The larger grip felt good in my hands, but nothing noticeable as far as results. The Golf Pride Tour Velvet Midsize had a more traditional feel, providing a familiar level of feedback and control. I think the jumbo coild minimize vibrationa little and maybe save some wear and tear on gloves. Still TBD on which grip is best for me long-term, but after my first session, I’m pleased with how the JumboMax performed in the driver.
