Euro Rail Trip 2023 ( part 1 )

Hi, here are some photos from our rail trip in May 2023, we flew from Liverpool Airport to Wroclaw were we spent the night. The first day we headed to Gliwice, whilst there we had a walk to the yard to see if anything interesting was about, was a bonus to see an ex DB 232 ( that will be in part 2 ), then onto Katowice finally onto Ostrava, we based ourselves in Ostrava for a couple of days. If you have not been we would recommend Ostrava and its surrounding areas, there's lots of freight with locos from Slovakia, Poland, Austria, Germany private companies and of course Czech Locos. Whilst in Ostrava we mainly did local trips including journeys hauled by Czech classes 151s, 163s, 193s, 350s, 362s, 388s & 750s On the Thursday we headed to Zilina ( Slovakia ) which is undergoing a massive modernization project, from there we had a ride out to Vrutky for some short rides to Martin to get some Slovakian class 754 & 757s plus a few other short trips to get other loco classes in aswell, On the Friday we headed out to Vrutky again to catch a train to Zvolen Osobna Stancia then onto Kosice before heading back to Liverpool on the Saturday. photos are in number accending order rather than date taken, part 2 to follow shortly, enjoy !
