A step by step guide for to how to use the EPOC device. Step 1: Open the device and hold the power button until the lights turn on. Step 2: Press and hold the crescent-shaped power button on the side unit until it vibrates. Step 3: Enter your user ID manually or scan your ID card to sign in. Step 4: Tap 'Scan' to scan your sample barcode or enter barcode manually. Step 5: Follow the video instructions to insert a new test card. If it is unable to be read, simply pull out and re-insert the card. Step 6: When collecting a blood sample to analyze, storing an a lithium heparin (green cap) tube allows for multiple analysis attempts. Step 7: Select the appropriate sample type - Venous: collected by needle, or Capillary: collected by pricking. Step 8: Wait the total time it takes for the card to calibrate before you insert the sample. Step 9: For Venous samples, use a syringe to draw the blood out of a lithium heparin tube. First, remove the needle. Inject and then twist 90 degrees to release sample onto the card. Delicately press down on syringe until you hear a beep. Step 11: For Capillary, use a tube to draw blood out of a lithium heparin tube or use a direct finger prick. Insert the tube and rotate 90 degrees. Delicately press down on syringe until you hear a beep. Allow the sample a moment to analyze. Step 12: Review the results and choose to either reject, report, or close. Step 13: Choose to run another test or sign out. Step 14: Remember to power off the device from the side and front.
