I'm comparing two tractors of equivalent size to see the cutting difference. I'm running in tall grass that grew for one month in mid Texas summer. One tractor is a Craftsman GT 5000 and the other is a Scotts 2554 25hp 54" cut commercial grade equivalent to the sister John Deere gt235. The Scotts is a commercial grade machine capable of running into the thousands of hours, the craftsman is a home owner model that will be doing good to reach 1000 hrs of use before it's worn out. It's unusual to find the craftsman tractors with any where near 1000 hours. Most I have seen are in bad shape near 300 to 400. I have seen the commercial Scotts and GT and x series JD tractors with well over 1000 hrs and still working great. There is a big difference in price and quality.
