When the 24-year-old model arrived backstage at the Colcci show, she had negotiate a phalanx of cameras and microphones just to enter in dressing room. Later, when she stepped onto the catwalk, her famous body silhouetted against the light, before striding out wearing a washed jeans and a sexy black sparkling top, the audience broke out into rapturous applause. The event took place on Friday June 17, before reports of an assault on her long-term boyfriend, actor Leonardo DiCaprio, in Los Angeles. For the Summer 2006 collection , Colcci found inspiration in the 'garage sale' look to create clothes with volume, shine and an aged look. The collection mixes natural cotton fabrics with handmade crochets and Swarovski crystals and beaded sequins. Glitter appears in some pieces, in reference to the strobe lights of the disco days. After the show the most famous Brazilian model held a press conference and spoke about her upcoming assignments. The model arrived in Rio from New York and will be travelling this weekend to China, her first visit to that country. The model, who has lived in New York since she was 16 and is a favourite target of the paparazzi where ever she goes, spoke about the fame and the fact that she misses a simple life. The Fashion Rio ended on Sunday. A total of 36 labels showed their 2006 Spring-Summer Collection at the event.
