A couple of days into the new Ryzan 9800 / RTX5080 has been eye opening. First, it far exceeds expectations I had. Makes old games like Project Cars 2 drive as good as anything I've ever driven; after removing it years ago for terrible physics. Who knew. 32 cars on California Highway is Just Wow. ACC - 50 car fields in VR, on Epic...A True Test. ACC is worst optimized VR ever. 7 Years later, it is finally able to be enjoyed to its fullest extent. Fantastic! WRC Just beyond outstanding now. Load cell brakes is game changer off road...ok, everywhere. AMS2, which was the best optimized already is even better. Force feedback and haptics feel better everywhere. Besides running everything maxed out, I always run the Oculus tool tray at 1.3 to 1.8 super sampling on everything. That is where the magic happens, and there is still plenty of power left over. The subtlety of shadows, the long distance viewing, no more drawing in as you move is just so satisfying. Seeing things you never knew were in the games is also very cool. No screen tearing as you look around; which is a dead give away your out of power. Then add a good wheel, pedals, on a stable setup hopefully with some haptics and you will truly forget that you are not at the track. VR has always had the great appeal of leaving home the second you put on the headset. You open your eyes in a new world. Triple screens just never did it for me, and the space, wiring, and electrical needs; never forget the heat they generate in summer. My 2017 Rift S VR headset hangs on a peg when not in use. The real test is flight, that is next on the checklist. Simhub has haptics for flight too, which is something I can't wait to feel. Enjoy.
