In Persian music, the Santur is one of the most important instruments and is strongly linked to the Persian culture. The way I play this magical instrument, however, differs quite significantly from the traditional playing in Iranian music: I use a different tuning and adopt the Santur to Western music scale. At the same time I am also tuning the Santoor to 432 Hz, aligning with the so-called Solfeggio frequencies that are really beneficial for holistic healing and meditation. Opposed to Santur in Persian Music, I developed a playing style that can be described as melodic-rhythmic, meditative and contemplative.
