They argue over what to do with Paris and it comes to light that Aphrodite is in fact Helen, wife of Menelaus, the King of Sparta. The other maiden and the old man are her handmaiden and a fisherman. Paris awakes and addresses Helen as Aphrodite, further adding to the confusion, and swears his lifelong devotion to her. To the concern of the fisherman, Helen seems to respond.
