Day 2 - Our second day in Vietnam started full of excitement — time to move from the quiet District 13 to the heart of the action: District 1. We checked out of our first hotel, grabbed our backpacks, and jumped into the city’s chaos. Our new stay — a beautiful boutique hotel with a rooftop bar and restaurant — felt like a total upgrade. 💡 Travel tip: boutique hotels in Vietnam are often stylish, clean, and surprisingly affordable — way better value than big chains! Once settled in, we went on the hunt for the famous Bánh Mì we’d heard so much about. We found a well-known spot, grabbed two to go, and headed to a nearby park for a little picnic under the trees. But… it wasn’t exactly what we expected. The flavor didn’t wow us — and that’s when things got interesting. An elderly woman approached us, all smiles, offering “great deals” on tours and hotels. She insisted we visit her “shop” and see her prices. Instead of just walking away, we decided to chat for a bit — she was actually quite sweet. We cracked a few jokes, took her phone number, and told her we’d maybe call later Spoiler: we didn’t call her back. Just minutes later, another man, this time a shoe cleaner, started polishing Elisabeth’s shoes without asking. We told him clearly that it wasn’t needed and that we didn’t have money, but he kept going. When he was done, he asked for 50,000 VND. I had 20,000 in my hand, which he refused, so we just smiled and walked away, amused by the persistence. From there, we walked toward Bến Thành Market, one of the busiest markets in the city. Inside, it was pure sensory overload — lights, smells, people calling you to buy something every second. We didn’t stay long, but it was wild to see that side of local life. To shift gears, we made our way to the Reunification Palace and then to the War Remnants Museum. The atmosphere changed completely — from chaos to deep reflection. The museum was emotional and heavy, but also incredibly important. It’s one of those visits that stays with you. After that, we needed something to lift our spirits — and found the perfect thing: a roasted coconut coffee that was absolutely delicious 💡(a must-try if you visit Ho Chi Minh!). Dinner was at a small authentic Chinese restaurant, packed with locals and buzzing with conversation. The food was fresh, comforting, and full of flavor — the perfect end to a long day. Back at our hotel, we were greeted by the wild energy of Bùi Viện Street, where neon lights flash, music blasts, and the streets come alive at night. It reminded us of Khaosan Road in Thailand — chaotic, loud, but full of life. It was a day full of surprises — from funny near-scams to amazing food, intense history, and a lot of laughs in between. Traveling isn’t always perfect, but it’s always real. And that’s exactly why we love it. ❤️ 📸 Follow our adventures on Instagram: / onewayticketeast #VietnamTravel #HoChiMinhCity #SaigonVlog #District1 #District13 #BenThanhMarket #ReunificationPalace #WarRemnantsMuseum #BuiVienStreet #BanhMiVietnam #VietNamFood #VietnamTips #TravelVietnam #VisitVietnam #HoChiMinhTravel #VietnamExperience #SoutheastAsiaTravel #AsiaBackpacking #TravelCouple #OneWayTicketEast #VietNam2025 #TravelVlog #DailyVlog #DigitalNomads #SlowTravel #VietnamAdventure #TravelSoutheastAsia #ExploreVietnam #TravelStory #BackpackingVietnam
