In this video, Elizabeth H. Stephens, MD, PhD discusses the anatomy, physiology, and surgical management of tetralogy of Fallot. Tetralogy of Fallot has a constellation of findings including a ventricular septal defect and often a narrowed pathway to the lungs which can cause babies to be “blue.” While the first surgical repair is commonly performed in infancy, these patients frequently require reoperation on the pulmonary valve.
