This exhibit is billed as “The first… to explore the evolution of women’s sporting attire in Western fashion over this 160-year period, drawn from the exceptional collections of the FIDM Museum at the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising, Los Angeles.” I focus more on the nineteenth century outfits, but you’ll get plenty of glimpses of twentieth century pretties! I wore my me-made 1870s tennis dress and hat for the occasion but did not take in my pink tennis racket for safety reasons.
