Color in Color - Stencil Fun with Gelli Arts® by Birgit Koopsen

It’s Birgit here today sharing a fun technique using stencils on the Gelli Arts® gel printing plate. It’s quite a simple technique to create color in color prints with stencils. Start with applying a layer of acrylic paint to the gel plate, then place the desired stencil on top. Place a piece of paper on top and rub firmly to remove as much of the paint from the open spaces as possible. Now take some contrasting colors and apply them to the open areas using a make-up sponge. Now carefully remove the stencil. Let all the paint fully dry. Apply a thin layer of white acrylic paint and pull the print while the paint is still wet.
