Full Playthrough/Gameplay of "Star Parodier" on the PC Engine CD/Turbografx CD - PC Engine. "Star Parodier" is a PC Engine CD-Rom^2 exclusive developed by Kaneko and published in 1992. As the title suggests, it’s a parody of one of the most important series by Hudson Soft, namely "Star Soldier", and, just like the original, it's a vertical-scrolling shoot’em up. An american version of this game, called "Fantasy Star Soldier", was planned, but in the end it never saw the light of day. "Star Parodier" immediately welcomes the player with a long, but adorable, animated sequence, which introduces the 3 playable characters. The first one is Paro Caeser, based on the spaceship Caeser from the Star Soldier franchise. The second is Bomberman, included in the game because it was one of the biggest Hudson Soft’s mascottes. And finally, the player can even control a PC Engine, which is able to pick up Hu Cards and shoot CDs! As is tradition in the Star Soldier titles, in addition to the main campaign the player can also face a Time Attack Mode, in which you must score as many points as possible within 2 or 5 minutes. Thanks to the exuberant vitality of its soundtrack and visuals, and to its funny and extravagant array of protagonists and enemies, "Star Parodier" is able to bring more than a smile to any kind of player. In 2008, the game has been digitally re-released on the Wii Virtual Console, and it was also included on the "Soldier Collection", which came out only in Japan for the Sony Playstation Portable/PSP. In 2020, "Star Parodier" was included on the PC Engine/Turbografx Mini console's library.
