With a 5 years time gap, we thought would be a good idea to relive the good old days where we began our journey with SPG and now Marriott International. The resort is still as rustic and beautifully designed as we remembered. We had the Plunge Pool Suite this time round. On the whole, it is pretty much as we remembered. It’s a resort being designed based on nature and also the Chinese art of feng sui. Bugs and mosquitoes are generally around although it didn’t bother us as much. Staffs here are amazing as always, although Le Meridien Samui doesn’t have the best beach and clear blue waters, the resort itself made up to it with their pier that turns into a bar in the evening. Happy hour and rooms are available. Do check that out with the staff. House keeping are the best. They pay attention to every single detail towards your needs. The food here however may be their weakest department. However, go for the local choices at Latest Recipe. It wouldn’t go wrong. Stay away from their western picks. They are still working on correcting this. There are however a couple of downsides. 5 years now since our last stay, the whole property stays the same. Technology wise and also amenities that are available at the resort, are way out of date. From the TV monitor to the entertainment system in the room, nothing that would be compatible with the phones and tablets we use today. Although it may not be a big deal. The resort itself is generally designed according to feng sui and nature. Not really a design that many appreciates. Hence there are some reviews you’ll actually read about complaining about the whole set up. It is still a solid resort and we loved it personally.
