The 2026 NBA trade deadline has come & gone - As of Feb 8th, there is still a lot to unpack in terms of what each team now looks like in 2026. Since this channel is focused on NBA 2K Play Now Online, what better way to do so than through the lens of 2K26? Enjoy an in-depth breakdown of each team & how I think they will fare in 2K going forward following the deadline. I’ve also included some notes on a few teams below that I touched on in the video. -Bucks: They still largely have the same roster (didn’t trade Giannis) but I do like the addition of Ousmane Dieng for them in terms of 2K. He’s a tall, versatile wing who can shoot. -Cavaliers: Following the Cavs’ trade for Harden, my outlook on Clevland hasn’t changed much. They largely have the same dynamic but did get a bit better, as their backcourt is more powerful now. -Celtics: I think the Celtics made a sneaky good move in acquiring Vucevic. He’s an older center who is solid all-around. Doesn’t elevate them much right now but it could help into next season as well. -Clippers: I wasn’t crazy about them to begin with, but now their backcourt is worse off without Harden. Kind of a shame because Kawhi is still really good. I do like them getting Mathurin, it’s unfortunate that Indiana lost him. -Hawks: What a roller coaster year it’s been for ATL. 2 blockbuster trades in the season, as Trae Young has ended up in Washington & Porzingis was moved to the Warriors. With the dust settled, I’m still a believer for the most part in terms of using the Hawks in 2K. They kept Okongwu & got a backup big in Landale. I still love a lot of their pieces that surround the bigs, headlined by a great pick & slip 4 in Jalen Johnson. -Jazz: Really like what the Jazz did at the deadline. It remains to be seen how things will plays out for Utah IRL for the remainder of the season, but I love the acquisition of Jaren Jackson. This gives them another tall, versatile big who can really defend, shoot & slash. That is always valuable, especially factoring in their other bigs like Markkanen, Nurkic & Love, with Ace Bailey & Keyonte George. -Kings: Another Cali team that got better. In some ways, I think Sacramento got what they’ve been missing over the last few years – a good, consistent 3 & D player who can really defend. De’Andre Hunter is a good addition for them & they retain just about all the firepower they had before the trade. -Mavs: Another fascinating case in terms of recent trades, the Mavs are interesting as a squad to use in 2K to say the least. On one hand, they got worse following trading AD at the deadline. AD gave them a legit big who can defend at a high level and stretch the floor – the lack of his presence really changes things for Dallas. On the other hand, I do still kind of like their squad. What they can bring to the table 1-4 with Christie, Klay, PJ & Flagg is unique. That’s a lot of versatile athleticism to go along with a good amount of defense and shooting. They also ended up with Khris Middleton, a guy who can add 3 & D depth for them. The question mark is obviously their frontcourt. However, I don’t completely hate their situation as they did get Marvin Bagely in return for AD (that’s of course a trade that only makes the Wizards better once AD plays, but Dallas did get something to salvage it) and they also still have Dwight Powell to stretch the floor. And that’s not mentioning the non-shooting bigs in Lively (hurt currently) & Gafford. -T-wolves: I really like the T-Wolves in 2K26 for Play Now Online. The only note that I want to make is that I think that they are slightly worse off as a team in 2K following the deadline – the reason for that is the departure of Leonard Miller. Miller is a tall, versatile athlete who can shoot, slash & defend at 6’10. He went to the Bulls in favor of Ayo – this may be a move that benefits the T-Wolves IRL, but I will miss Miller. He started some games for me even with the T-Wolves fully healthy & really played big minutes at times. -Warriors: As I mentioned above & in the video, I think the Warriors got better IRL and as a 2K team following the deadline. They pair KP with Steph, giving SC a really good stretch big to compliment him. They also still have Draymond, Horford, Post, Podz, Moody & Payton. -Wizards: Rounding things out is DC, who made some big-time trades in the 2025-2026 season. I was already starting to like the Wizards as a team before the trades, as they had a few really solid pieces already in place to compliment Sarr. Now, with AD, they have a super dynamic frontcourt (and that’s not to mention Trae, who can compliment some of their other wings like George, Champagnie, Whitmore (hurt), Coulibaly, Riley and Gill). The obvious question mark/issue is that it’s uncertain if AD will play for the Wizards in 2026. However, the acquisitions make this team really good – I will be playing with the Wizards once the season ends & AD is unlocked for use (or earlier, if he starts playing IRL).
