The landfill was alive — trucks kept rolling in, dumping fresh loads while seagulls and other hunters circled around me. That's the thing about this place: you never know what the next pile holds. I almost got buried in one of them. But I stayed. And the trash delivered. First — electronics. A power supply unit, dirty plastic on the outside, but crack it open and you've got copper, aluminum, brass inside. Circuit boards with gold-plated connectors — RAM going for $70 per kilogram, green boards at $5-7. A mysterious device marked "Danger — contains mercury" with microchips and capacitors. Even Xiaomi and Apple batteries pulled from the pile. Then leather boots in solid condition, a heat gun, a wooden desk calendar, a robot vacuum with its filter and brush still attached. Decent finds — but not the highlight. At the very top of the landfill, a small bag catches my eye. Inside: a Daniel Klein watch, two coins, a charger, and a golden frog figurine for good luck.
