Step back to the 1940s and discover the Renault AHN – one of the most important French trucks of the Second World War. Introduced in 1940, the AHN was part of Renault’s legendary AHx series, combining practicality, reliability, and innovative design. With its cab-over-engine layout, six-cylinder engine of 4,086 cubic centimeters, and the ability to run on both gasoline and gas generators, the AHN became a true symbol of versatility in difficult wartime conditions. Produced in more than 26,000 units between 1941 and 1947, the Renault AHN was used by the Wehrmacht during the war, later serving France in civilian life until it was succeeded by the Renault Galion. This medium-duty truck could carry nearly six tons of weight, reach speeds of 59 kilometers per hour, and cover 300 kilometers on a single refuel – remarkable numbers for its time. Today, only a few restored examples survive in museums and private collections, reminding us of Renault’s engineering excellence and the resilience of 1940s innovation.
