This segment highlights a charitable partnership between Cure Childhood Cancer and O'Dwyer Homes focused on supporting the fight against childhood cancer. Cure Childhood Cancer Mission The organization is a nonprofit dedicated to ending childhood cancer in our lifetime. The organization operates with a twofold mission: Advancing research to ensure children fighting cancer have access to the best treatments, addressing a significant lack of funding in that area. Supporting families who are currently navigating the challenges of fighting the disease. The Build for Cure Program Build for Cure is a program that partners with companies like O'Dwyer Homes to build houses. Trade partners in the building community work together to construct the home, and the proceeds from the sale are donated back to Cure Childhood Cancer. Builder and Community Involvement Kathy from O'Dwyer Homes explained that the most rewarding part of the process was getting trade partners involved. Many partners chose to participate because they have had personal encounters with childhood cancer in their own lives. To date, the initiative has raised over $50,000 in donations. One trade partner, Pace Drywall, was particularly motivated to join the project because they were personally touched by the loss of a toddler to the disease. Personal Impact Stacy, an employee at O'Dwyer Homes, shared her family's experience after her son was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia in 2015. Cure Childhood Cancer provided the family with essential resources, including education, counseling, and assistance with day-to-day needs such as food and gas cards. Stacy described it as a blessing to witness her company actively supporting the organization that helped her family through such a difficult time.
