Annual Shan State People's Resistance Day parade at Loi Taileng, Shan State Army (SSA) "South" 's Headquarters on May 21, 2011 which commemorates the founding of "the Noom Serk Harn" (Young Brave Warriors), the first resistance movement in Shan State against Burma regime, led by Sao Noi Saw Yanda and 30 other comrades in 1958. Lt-Gen Yawd Serk, leader of Shan State Army "South" (SSA) and Restoration Council of Shan State (RCSS), has officially declared that his army and the Shan State Progress Party (SSPP) and Shan State Army "North" have united to fight against the Burma Army. Colonel Sai Htoo, 2nd Assistant Secretary General from SSPP said they will keep fighting until they achieve justice, self-determination and equality. "Before, we believed that we could solve the problems with the Burma Army by political means and we concluded ceasefire with them. But their actions didn't match their words. This is why we decided to return to the struggle," Col.Sai Htoo said.
