Welcome back to the explosive Part 2 of our Gold Recovery Series! In this highly requested episode, we complete the powerful Electrochemical Gold Stripping and begin the Full Gold Refining Process — turning e-waste gold sludge into a stunning piece of pure gold. We continue from Part 1 using a stronger Power Supply (12–15V, 4–10A) to ensure complete reverse gold plating. Final Stripping: All the gold plating is successfully stripped into concentrated Sulfuric Acid (H₂SO₄). Gold Sludge Recovery: The solution is neutralized and filtered to collect the rich black gold sludge, containing all the stripped gold from e-waste pins and connectors. Now the real transformation begins — converting the raw sludge into high-purity gold! 1. Aqua Regia Process: Dissolving the sludge using a mix of Hydrochloric Acid (HCl) and Nitric Acid (HNO₃) to form Chloroauric Acid (HAuCl₄). 2. Urea Neutralization: Neutralizing excess nitric acid with Urea to prepare for clean precipitation. 3. Gold Precipitation: Adding Sodium Metabisulfite (SMB) to selectively drop pure metallic gold. 4.
