Three cases of renal Cortical Cyst | Kidney Cyst A simple renal cyst and include cysts containing internal echoes, septations, calcifications, perceptible defined walls, and mural nodularity. A cyst is confidently characterized at sonography when it is anechoic, has a sharply defined, imperceptible back wall, is round or ovoid and enhances sound transmission. A thickened cyst wall and a debris-fluid or gas fluid level may suggest an infected cyst at ultrasound. Internal echoes within a cyst are usually the result of hemorrhage or infection. Case 1 Kidneys: Both Kidneys are normal in position, shape and size.( Bipolar length Rt Kid 10.73 cm Lt Kid 10.84 cm ) Cortico-medullary differentiation is normal in both kidneys with normal cortical echogenity. Echogenic renal sinuses are normal on both sides. No evidence of hydronephrosis, mass lesion or calculus is seen on either side. Ureters are not dilated. There is a anechoic cystic mass located in anterior cortex of the left kidney. ( 2.54 cm ) Uterus: Mild bulky in size and anteverted in position. Measuring 9.61 cm x 3.65 cm x 4.61 cm Endometrium: Normal in thickness. Myometrium: Is homogeneous. No focal lesion seen in the myometrium. Rt Ovary: Normal in size, and echogenicity. Left Ovary: Normal in size, and echogenicity. A cyst is noted in the oavry ( 2.03 cm ) Cul-de-Sac: Free from any fluid collection. Case 2 Kidneys: Both Kidneys are normal in position, shape and size.( Bipolar length Rt Kid 9.28 cm Lt Kid 9.92cm ) Cortico-medullary differentiation is normal in both kidneys with normal cortical echogenity. Echogenic renal sinuses are normal on both sides. No evidence of hydronephrosis, mass lesion or calculus is seen on either side. Ureters are not dilated. Bilateral Evidence cortical cyst is noted larger two in the right side measuring 4.3cm and 1.8cm. Case 3 Rt kidney: Normal in size, regular in shape with smooth outline. Bipolar length 9.55 cm. Cortex & medulla are well differentiated. Central echo-complex is echogenic and normal. No evidence of any focal/diffuse lesion or calculus is detected. Lt Kidney: Normal in size, regular in shape with smooth outline. Bipolar length 10.81 cm.Central echo-complex is echogenic and normal. No evidence of any focal/diffuse lesion or calculus is detected. There is a cystic structure ( 3.12cm ) seen in the anterior cortex within which echogenic structure casting posterior shadow. Measuring 0.72 cm.
