The clarinetist and old-style Sardinian instruments player will grace the stage at Arraymusic on June 13 with her unique blend of jazz and traditional Sardinian Music. Zoe’s performance promises a captivating fusion, weaving together the sounds of clarinet, launeddas, Sardinian cowbells, and lumanoise, offering audiences a mix of jazz, futuristic, and contemporary music. Solo is dealing with improvised music in new forms, structures and directions. Elements from Sardinian folk music, Noise music and harsh electronics, free improvised music, contemporary music, free jazz and more. Moving in audio landscapes never before investigated. New meetings of the unknown. New meetings of the known. Going deeper into the rich cultures of traditional music and new creative languages of experimental music. Open space improv meets extreme detail in high-energy outbursts. Tight audio clusters meet full-blown slabs of massive density in passages of melodic poetry of the highest beauty. The sound of Zoe Pia (clarinet, launeddas, Sardinian cowbells, lumanoise) will take root in undefined, out-of-focus, impressionist, futuristic, contrasting, parallel, intertwined sound architectures.
