Bayer Healthcare China (English version)

We produced this five-minute video for Bayer Healthcare China first in 2009 to represent what they do in China and then updated the video with the version seen here in 2010. A slightly longer version was also made with an inserted message from the CEO of Bayer Healthcare China. Outside of the community service and factory scenes we shot, we used all actors for the consumer/patient story lines in the video. Ten different voice over performers and two sets of graphics and animation were made to create distinct English and Chinese versions. The onscreen drama demanded equally dramatic music. After some experimentation and several rejected melodies for the opening, we worked through things with the composer to come up with the songs that drive the emotional highs and lows that jump from medical discovery to cancer diagnosis to starting a family. The 45-second animation telling over 125 years of Bayer history in China (1:55-2:41) was forged from a simple timeline and old images provided by the client. Jack Morton was the agency. We were told they spoke to 15 other production companies before finding and choosing us for this project. The client tells us that their sales department loves to borrow from this video for their sales presentations, which we take as a great compliment.
