The Slum Mums is a song by Morrissey. The song was written and composed by Morrissey, Boz Boorer and Gary Day and was produced by Jerry Finn. The Slum Mums was originally released as a track on the CD single for I Have Forgiven Jesus in December 2004. This slightly edited version was released on the digital download of the Swords album. Morrissey is the co-founder, former front-man, lyricist and joint composer for the seminal English band "The Smiths". Since the groups break-up in 1987 Morrissey has remained an internationally renowned and successful solo artist. This film is made from clips taken from Goodbye Longfellow Road a documentary Directed by John Willis made by Yorkshire Television and transmitted in 1977. It depicts the demolition of streets of houses near Clinton Road in Bow to create a section of Mile End Park. The film offers an account of the slums of London and the provision of new housing for Londoners which highlights the poor housing conditions and corruption in local government.
