Using about 4,000 photographs taken from the International Space Station by Kimiya Yui last December 29, we created this #timelapse. These are two night sequences in which Kimiya decided to frame the starry sky to highlight the #ISS's rotational motion around the Earth. The scene is dominated by the Station's giant solar panels, which rotate to track the Sun, optimizing the amount of electricity produced. The movement is carried out by two rotors (one on the starboard side and one on the port side) called SARJ (Solar Alpha Rotary Joint). The video is sped up about 15 times compared to the actual speed of the Station. -------------- The AstronautiCAST YouTube channel is run by passionate volunteers on an unpaid basis.
