Dutch Schultz was an incredibly wealthy Mobster back in the early 1900’s but unlike many others, he didn’t blow his cash on unnecessary spending. He didn’t waste it on cars, clothes or women. He was very frugal and did a lot of saving. So when he met his untimely demise at the hands of gang violence… where did all of his money go? He grew up in the Bronx New York and started working from the young age of 9 years old. His mother and father divorced so he had to become the man of the house and help support his mother and little sister. While doing this Dutch began associating with other known criminals and found life to be much more beneficial while breaking the rules. Dutch Schultz made friends with one of his employers, Joey Noe and they became partners. They created their own gang where they began smuggling liquor and beer to New York and Canada. As they expanded their business they came into many difficulties and suffered losses along the way. It’s the fact that Dutch Schultz was making so much money and yet, he didn’t spend it. In fact at the time of his death he gave a series of ramblings that caused everyone to believe he may have hidden his wealth in a small town in Northern New York.
