The Judean Desert - Day 1

After a couple weeks of preperation it was time to get going! The desert was calling us to ride a great stretch of 109 km offroad along and above the dead sea. A great sharp riders group including: Tom, Yuval, Barak, Haim, Ido and me. We arrived in the early evening hours of thursday so we don't have a stretch of 140km to complete early in the morning, and have a relaxed start after a great BBQ and a couple of beers. Rolled our bikes and started the fisrt section up to Mezokey Dragot with minor chalanges on the way but with a great warm up. The second stretch, was more chalanging but with stunning views of the desert and near the end the one obstacle I feared the most, Shafan uphill! A couple of drops later and we were nearing the end of the day and rode to Arad for a good hamburger meal and fell asleep at 8 pm...
