In Noh, the sea is not merely nature. It represents a boundary between worlds — a liminal space where memory, spirits, and human emotion intersect. Here, a child stands before the sea. The child embodies both fear and hope, facing something vast and unknown. Akita-bō stands behind — not as a guide who commands, but as a presence who witnesses the trembling. Like the relationship between shite and waki in Noh, the sea, the child, and Akita-bō hold distinct roles while illuminating one another. Is the wave a threat — or a light? Is stepping forward an act of courage — or prayer?
