In a small and wonderful wine region, Lungarotti is synonymous with Torgiano, the land which gave birth to Umbrian wine. Founded by Giorgio Lungarotti in the early 60's, today the company is a great wine farm appreciated in the world and an important example of the cultural and touristic power of this Italian excellence. In 1974 Lungarotti opened a Wine Museum with complete collections with detailed bilingual educational literature and began a series of publications, expositions and conventions centered on the wine. The Rubesco Rosso di Torgiano is a red wine produced from Sangiovese, canajolo and colorino, aged one year in cask and one in bottle and suitable for average aging of 10-15 years. Rubesco is a proprietary brand, derived from the Latin verb rubescere; to blush: hence, a joyous meaning. It has a fine ruby colour, typical aromas of pepper, sweet tobacco, jam and violet. On the palate we find a pleasant drinkability with good concentration, mature and harmonious tannins with a long-lasting fruity finish. The ideal food matching is a risotto or roasted red and white meats.
