1:24th scale slot car drag cars is gaining popularity around the nation for the high fun and relative low cost to play. We got bit by the slot car bug a couple months ago and the videos we posted got some good interest, so I decided to do a quick video on the pit box I made and the way I have built a couple cars to use the same chassis to save on the cost of fielding multiple cars. It is made from an old doll box I picked up for $5 at a swap meet. It'll hold 4 cars, tools, and controllers and is compact enough that it can fit in the cab of the rat rod, or Liberty's Vette. I figured I'd need at least a pair of cars to run for a couple reasons. First is there is always the chance one burns up a motor or something. Second is that if you bring a friend or family member with you they need to have something to run, too. I did the 'Wild One' Tempest first, so for the stable mate I built another Mid-America Boss chassis that can hold a '66 Nova pro-street, or a '53 Studebaker Altered Wheelbase car body. By simply pulling a pair of pins the bodies, engine, front tires and all can be swapped to give the car a completely different look fit whatever flavor of hot rod you are in the mood for on race night.
