Centre of the North Island and Endeans Mill

On my earlier ride to the geographical centre of the North Island I just went there, and then turned around and came back the same way. I remember wondering whether the road would take you all the way through the Pureora Forest. So, I decided to check it out again. Google Maps didn't think there was a road there... but it didn't even think there was a road to the Centre of North Island. I was pleased to find that the road did go all the way through. And, in fact, the road on the other side (the western part) was much nicer. I had intended to tag on a loop past Endeans Mill and back past the Piropiro Campsite. Google Maps allowed me to plot a route through there... but I was foiled yet again by a gate. Trespassers will be prosecuted. At least Endeans Mill was an interesting stop. You can get a guided tour through the mill and the surrounding buildings. (Show them some love - https://endeansmill.co.nz/). I didn't do the tour this time (maybe next time), but I did get permission fly my drone over the property. That turned out to be unfortunate. I took my eye off the drone for a second and clipped a tree branch. This resulted in a snapped arm and a lost ND filter. Thankfully the drone had fallen right next to the fence. The "find my drone" feature took me straight to it. The icing on the cake was when I got home and watched the footage. Only to discover that there was no audio for the helmet mic. The cable had split. It was a nice ride, but expensive. Maps Google Maps doesn't believe there is a road to the centre of the North Island, or through the Pureora Forest.
