In 1983, Medical Explorer viewers were taken into the historic Community Memorial Museum in Yuba City, California. The Museum manager, Mary, presented medicinal artifacts from the 1800's and early 1900's related to health care of those past days. The mission of the Museum is the acquisition, preservation, interpretation and exhibition of artifacts and information reflecting the cultural heritage of Sutter County, California. At the end of the episode, viewers meet volunteers, Mary Jane Cook, RN, and Fran Chapman, RN, from an organization that focused on fighting drug addiction and drug abuse called the Chemical People Task Force. Drug paraphernalia was presented.
