Set in the 50s, the story follows a day in the life of a struggling artist -- the humiliation of being faced with peers who have become successful in their chosen career paths looking down on her, a car breaking down on the way to a gig, being paid close to nothing for performing and saving all of the money just for studio time. Plus, a tearjerker surprise: Cocoa’s late mother makes an appearance at the very end. Cocoa says, “When I was writing the treatment, it was important that the visual captured what it really feels like to chase a dream that doesn’t pay right away. I wanted to be just as transparent in the visual as I was when I was writing the song."
