There isn’t supposed to be a hole in the middle. When people have a hole they have can more nasal dryness, nosebleeds, crusting and even a whistling noise when they breath through their nose. This is most commonly caused by nasal trauma, nasal surgery, drug use in the nose, autoimmune disorders and picking the nose. A simple solution that can be done easily in the office without any needles necessary is placing a “septal button” that has a magnet that goes through the hole and silicone around this. This closes the hole and prevents most of the issues that the hole or perforation causes. Questions? Let me know!
