Voskresensky besuchte das Moskauer Konservatorium und wurde von Lew Oborin ausgebildet, der selbst erster Preisträger beim ersten Chopin-Wettbewerb 1927 in Warschau war. Voskresensky belegte 1956 beim ersten Robert-Schumann-Wettbewerb, damals noch in Berlin, zusammen mit der polnischen Pianistin Lidia Grychtołówna den dritten Platz. Ebenso einen 3. Preis errang er beim ersten Van Cliburn International Piano Competition 1962 in Fort Worth, Texas, USA. Im Jahre 1957 war er der Solist bei der ersten Aufführung des Zweiten Klavierkonzerts opus 102 von Dmitri Schostakowitsch außerhalb der Sowjetunion. Dieses Konzert fand im Rahmen des Prager Frühlings statt, und der Komponist war persönlich anwesend. Woskressenski ist Klavierprofessor am Moskauer Konservatorium. In den Jahren 2001 bis 2004 war er Gastprofessor an der japanischen Toho Gakuen School of Music in Chofu bei Tokio. Ferner ist er „Artist-in-Residence" an der Juilliard School in New York. Voskresensky attended the Moscow Conservatory and was trained by Lev Oborin, who himself won first prize at the first Chopin Competition in Warsaw in 1927. In 1956, Voskresensky won third place at the first Robert Schumann Competition, then still in Berlin, together with the Polish pianist Lidia Grychtołówna. He also won 3rd prize at the first Van Cliburn International Piano Competition in Fort Worth, Texas, USA, in 1962. In 1957, he was the soloist in the first performance of Dmitri Shostakovich's Second Piano Concerto opus 102 outside the Soviet Union. This concert took place as part of the Prague Spring Festival and the composer was present in person. Voskressensky is a piano professor at the Moscow Conservatory. From 2001 to 2004, he was a visiting professor at the Japanese Toho Gakuen School of Music in Chofu near Tokyo. He is also an artist-in-residence at the Juilliard School in New York. He left Russia in 2022 to protest against the Russian invasion of Ukraine and moved to the United States.
