Advances in Communication & Swallowing (ACS) hosted its first Spring online lecture event for all professionals with an interest in communication/swallowing on April 27, 2022. The lecture was given by Dr. Shaun O' Keeffe, Consultant Geriatrician (National University of Ireland, Galway), along with his research team, and was based on the recently published and very popular ACS paper “Aspiration, risk, and risk feeding: A critique of the Royal College of Physicians' guidance on care of people with eating and drinking difficulties” (https://doi.org/10.3233/ACS-210031). About Advances in Communication and Swallowing: ACS is the official journal of the Irish Association of Speech & Language Therapists. It is a peer-reviewed journal that welcomes submissions from clinicians and researchers in areas including, speech, language, voice, fluency, communication, and swallowing. It is multidisciplinary in nature with submissions considered from professional and scientific disciplines allied to speech and language pathology, such as linguistics, psychology, education, audiology, and medicine.
