Baruch and Balthamos (Demo)

This song is based on my two favourite characters from Phillip Pullman's 'His Dark Materials', who are in turn inspired by Milton's depictions of angels in 'Paradise Lost'. If I was really retelling the story of Baruch and Balthamos this would be a song about grief - I'm very blessed at this point in my life to not be able to talk about grief with much authority, so the lyrics are instead focused on Pullman's depiction of Heaven. I absolutely intend to make a full version of this song! In my mind at the moment it's the penultimate song of the album I'm working towards. I think I would add a few more vocal layers, especially some harmonies in the heavier end section, but a lot of the production work here would be about making these existing parts warm and spacious.
