Boogies Trains at: Birmingham Moor Street - 2 February, 2024

Whilst on my way further north, I stopped over in Birmingham for a few hours and included a short visit to Moor Street station, the former Great Western terminus for suburban traffic from the south. I passed through the station in April 2013 but this is my first proper look around. The station has a complex history and I would recommend reading about it on Wikipedia. I have tried to include the important events and dates in the subtitles. Most services are operated by WMT using their fleet of 172/2 and 172/3 Turbostar DMUs that are allocated to Tysley. WMT also has the former Chiltern 172/1 and London Overground 172/0 two car units. These are easily identified as they don't have end gangways. Chiltern operate regular services to London Marylebone. Plans for the future include new chords at Bordesley which would increase the number of services and range of destinations served by this station.
