Yes viewers this week we stand beneath the amazing blooms of Brugmansia sanguinea and Brugmansia sanguinea subsp. sanguinea 'Flava' - it's yellow flowered cousin. (Though any name for the yellow form should be considered inconclusive and not as yet settled.) Native to the Columbian Andes this is the most cool tolerant of all the Brugmansias and in fact needs the cooler weather of autumn to trigger flowering...just not TOO cool! It is frost sensitive. And yes, the Brugmansias are toxic so don't ingest any part of the plant!
