Political leaders and human rights groups in Mombasa say they will stage demonstrations to protest extra judicial killings which they claim have increased.The planned protests will be on a day that President Uhuru Kenyatta is scheduled to to commission the Second Container Terminal at the Mombasa Port. Governor Hassan Joho, area Women representative Mishi Mboko, MP's Abdulswamad Nassir of Mvita, Badi Twalib of Jomvu and Rashid Bedzimba of Kisauni say police should stick to arresting suspects and not killing them. They also condemned the killing of Tony Katana, a form two student shot dead by police in Kisauni shortly after leaving a wedding ceremony he had attended on August 12. Kisauni Deputy OCPD Walter Abondo said the boy was armed with machetes, and had tried to fight the officers before he was shot.
