#Cemetery #Grave #Pioneer #Firstfleet #History #Australia #Sydney #Explore Liverpool Pioneers Memorial Park / Cemetery, was established in 1821, This area holds the burials of Early Pioneers, Military Personnel, Colonial Officials, Free Settlers, Convicts as well as Service Personnel from Holsworthy Army Base including German & Austrian internees, burials from Liverpool Men's Asylum's, Male Orphan School and Thomas Moore College. The Cemetery was closed for burials in 1958. This Cemetery is the resting place for First Fleet Noteable William Broughton, who arrived on board the Charlotte as servant to Surgeon John White, Also many other Noteable Pioneers including James Badgery, Mary Burnside, Thomas Moore, his wife Rachel Turner and her son with John White, Captain Andrew Douglas White, who was the only Australian born to fight in the Napoleonic Wars. Plus many more... In 1970 various headstones were removed as Liverpool Council converted the Cemetery into a rest park. 🙄. However as the headstones were only placed into storage, they were returned to their original plots in 2009, and it became a cemetery again in 2010..
