We’ll start right in my dashboard, which may look a bit different from yours, but don’t worry. Near the bottom, you’ll find the All-in-One WP Migration option. This is a plugin that we’ll use for our backup. First, let’s install the plugin. Go to the plugins section and click on “Add New.” In the search bar, type “All-in-One WP Migration.” You should see it pop up in the results. This is the one I recommend, created by Serve Mask. Click “Install Now,” and then activate it just like any other WordPress plugin. Once activated, you’ll see options to import and export. If you’ve moved a WordPress site from somewhere else, you can import it here. But for now, let’s focus on exporting and creating backups. When you click on the backups option, you can create a new backup easily. Now, exporting gives you a bit more flexibility than just creating a backup. There are some limitations, especially regarding file sizes, but those usually come into play when you try to import the data into another site. If your site is large, you might need to tweak some settings in WordPress, but overall, it’s pretty straightforward. You can also click on “Advanced Options” to choose what to exclude from your export. For example, if you don’t want to include plugins or media, you can check those boxes. Once you’re set, hit “Export” at the bottom. You’ll have various options for saving your export, like saving it as a file to your computer, or using services like FTP, Dropbox, Google Drive, and more. Once the export is finished, you’ll click “Download” to get the file on your computer. I’m stopping the export now so things don’t get too messy. If you need to import data, you just click on the import option and follow the prompts. Keep in mind that the maximum file size for imports is 2GB. If your file is larger, you may need to adjust some WordPress settings or ask your hosting provider for help. I consider exports as backups too, but if you just want a quick backup, you can click “Create Backup” in the backups section. It’s a straightforward process, but you won’t have the same options as with an export. In summary, All-in-One WP Migration is a fantastic plugin for managing your WordPress backups. You can export, import, and create backups easily. This ensures your site is safe, whether you’re backing up to the cloud or moving to a new host.
