Wide shot of car passing along road being repaired STORYLINE: Workers in the Northern Alliance held Panjshir Valley, north of the Afghan capital Kabul, are trying to rebuild some of the infrastructure in the area. Roads in the war-torn region are either damaged or in a poor state of repair. The Alliance's top military and political leaders met in their Panjshir Valley stronghold on Sunday to discuss their next move in the battle for control of Afghanistan. Alliance fighters on the front lines want to march on Kabul supported by U-S warplanes, but, the reluctance of Washington to use their air superiority to pound Taliban ground forces has forced the Alliance top brass to rethink their strategy for victory. Reports are that they are unlikley to attempt a full-scale ground offensive against the Taliban regime within the next month.
