We are rebuilding our 1990’s Dodge NV4500 Transmission. In this video we will be discussing the tools used to install the front countershaft bearing (Timken LM 102949CP or 102949 ), front countershaft bearing cup/race (Timken LM102910P or 102910 ), and rear countershaft bearing (Timken LM501349HP or 501349 ). See links below for all that is needed. First we installed the front countershaft bearing cup/race (Timken LM102910P or 102910 ) with a Harbor Freight Maddox # 63261 – Bearing Race and Seal Driver 10 Pc. Set , and a 2.834”/72mm cup installer/adapter (instead of the T1802 Cup Installer and T1102 14” Driver Handle). After installing the bearing cup/race, I placed the 72mm cup/race installer in the cup/race to protect it (the manual recommends a TS2006 Countershaft Support). I then installed the front countershaft bearing (Timken LM 102949CP) onto the front countershaft, by placing the countershaft on the floor, on top of a 2X4. I used the old bearing (which I clearanced with a Dremel) and a bearing race driver to drive the front countershaft bearing onto the countershaft. I put the NV4500 transmission case on the floor, on top of a 2X4. I inserted the countershaft in the transmission, resting the shaft on the 72mm cup installer. I then slid the countershaft rear bearing (Timken LM501349HP or 501349 ) onto the countershaft. I then slid on the old bearing (that I clearanced with a Dremel), a 1¼” black iron plumbing T (that I clearanced with rotary air grinder and a Dremel), and used a bearing race driver to drive the front countershaft bearing onto the countershaft (instead of the T2005 Bearing Installer). • NV4500 Removing Input Bearing Cup from Inp... Finally I used Redline MT-85 Transmission Gear Oil to lubricate the bearing cups and bearings, removed the 72mm cup installer, and dropped the countershaft into place. After that I lubed and placed the rear countershaft bearing cup (Timken LM501310P or 501310 ) over the countershaft rear bearing and slid it into the case. @harborfreight https://www.redlineoil.com/mt-85-75w8... https://www.summitracing.com/parts/re... https://www.harborfreight.com/bearing... https://www.lowes.com/pd/Mueller-Prol...
