We caught up with owner-operator Mel Williams showing this 2003 Peterbilt 379 -- powered by a 6NZ Caterpillar, recently rebuilt -- at the Mayberry Truck Show last fall in Mt. Airy, North Carolina. At the time of the show, she had owned the truck for a year and a half. Leased with the 5F fleet, Williams noted she'd finally finished extensive mechanical work on the rig and was in the process of dressing up the exterior and interior finishes. After years of work prior to her ownership hauling concrete powder chemicals that ate away at the clear coat on the paint, next up for the rig is a new paint job.
