In today's video, we are diving straight into the absolute hypocrisy of modern gaming journalism, specifically looking at a completely unhinged new article from Kotaku. Capcom just dropped Resident Evil Requiem, and while most people are talking about the survival horror mechanics, Kotaku decided to publish a massive thirst trap piece about Leon Kennedy. The author literally brags about keeping Leon on low health just to hear him moan and praises the developers for making him a "hot uncle." It is the peak objectification of male video game characters, and they are totally unapologetic about it. But here is the massive double standard that drives gamers crazy. If a straight guy wrote this exact same article about female video game characters like Jill Valentine or Eve from Stellar Blade, Kotaku would be leading the mob to cancel him over the "toxic male gaze." Why is it that when developers make a sexy male character, they are praised as heroes, but attractive female character designs are blasted as sexist? The state of games media is a total joke right now, and this Resident Evil Requiem review just proves they have absolutely zero self-awareness.
