Psalmus 7 is a plea for refuge and justice — a prayer spoken from a place of integrity when falsely accused and surrounded by opposition. It calls upon God as righteous judge, appealing not to power or revenge, but to truth, conscience, and divine discernment. This Latin setting of Psalmus 7 uses the historic Gallican Psalter of the Vulgate tradition and is presented in the Vox Ecclesiae style: a cappella, choral chant. Inspired by the Gregorian tradition yet expanded in emotional depth, this setting employs male and female voices, rich harmony, and free, speech-like rhythm. No instruments are used — the human voice alone carries the gravity and meaning of the text.
