Plane Along Path (Construction) Definition: Creates a sketch plane that is perpendicular to a selected line or curve (path). How it works: You select a path (like a 3D sketch line) and drag the plane to a specific point (e.g., the very end). Best for: Setting up the starting point for a complex sweep or positioning a feature (like a nozzle) somewhere along a tube. 2. Extrude Definition: The standard tool for creating 3D geometry from a sketch. How it works: You select a profile and give it thickness. Best for: Creating brackets, flanges, or mounting plates that will attach to your tubing. 3. Pipe Definition: A "shortcut" tool that creates a tube or rod along a path. How it works: This is faster than "Sweep." You don't need to draw a circle profile. You simply select a line (path), choose the section shape (Circle, Square, or Triangle), and set the size. Best for: Roll cages, furniture frames, cooling lines, or handlebars. 4. Mirror Definition: Creates a symmetrical copy of a body or feature. How it works: You model the left half of your object, select a mirror plane (like the center plane), and Fusion generates the right half. Best for: Ensuring symmetry. Note: Often, when you mirror a "Body," you end up with two separate halves that touch but aren't one piece yet. 5. Combine Definition: Performs Boolean operations (Join, Cut, Intersect) between solid bodies. How it works: Join: Glues two separate bodies together into one single solid (e.g., merging your Mirrored halves). Cut: Uses one body to remove material from another (like a cookie cutter). Intersect: Keeps only the volume where two bodies overlap. Best for: Merging a mirrored left/right side into a single part, or cutting a complex shape out of a block. 6. Shell Definition: Hollows out a solid body. How it works: You select a face to remove (like the end of a cylinder) and set a wall thickness. Best for: If you created a solid rod using the "Pipe" tool (without the hollow option), you can use Shell to turn it into a hollow tube with open ends. 7. Fillet Definition: Rounds off sharp edges. How it works: Applies a radius to edges. Best for: Weld Simulation: Adding a fillet where a tube meets a plate can look like a weld bead. Smoothness: Rounding the corners of your extruded brackets.
