Sure some people will tell you it's not a real lapsteel and they may even technically be right. But if it walks like a duck and talks like a duck? I'm using the 'Grover Perfect Guitar Nut' nut extension to raise the action up that end of the guitar. If you get bored easily you can 'jump to' various sections of the video by consulting the timeline below. This video deals with the challenges of turning a stratocaster into a lapsteel. The tremolo presents some issues so I'll deal with that here as well. There are some other potential bumps on the road raising the action at the bridge end when you have separate saddles like you do on a strat. That's also tackled.
